Well I was just wondering who else on here listens to black metal. I listen to bands like Burzum, Carpathian Forest, Nattefrost, Bornholm, Mayhem, Emperor, Ad Hominem, Dark Funeral, and Gorgoroth to name a few. But well it would be cool to met some people with the same or similar taste in music.

`candlelight did an excellent job with the special wrath of the tyrant box set. mayhem? i prefere sarcofago, far more extreme and hateful, original. mayhem is overrated, and anyone can do a song like necro---- huh huh... norwegian bm in general is overrated, they often forget most of them in the mid/late 80s started out doing death and autopsy cover-songs in their basements........ i always found from 80s metal to bm of the 90s and to this day, eastern europe has always had far more interesting bands, and poland alone has ones that were way more hateful and ahead of their time with amazing cold atmosphere. i always poked fun of darkthrone's "where the cold winds blow" and said even colder winds blow in the north and east of scandinavia!!! but with that said, norway still has good ones. kvist and few others... many norwegian bm fans and the bands themselves sometimes get too full of themselves and forget who their own influences are and who REALLY started it all........any band in norway? nope!~

I love black metal haha, but so few people I know even know what black metal is, its dissapointing. I love Gorgoroth and Dark Funeral, but only the melodic songs, like Funeral Procession, Of Ice and Movement, The Devil is Calling for Gorgoroth and In my Dreams, Atrum Regina, My Funeral for Dark Funeral.
I also love depressive black metal, a distinct subgenre. Thy Light is my favorite depressive black metal band but also Niflheim, Anti, Austere, and many others. Its really melancholy yet powerful music.

`austere was ok. but get grisatre and velaad. gorgoroth was a bore. eastern europe has far more hateful and extreme stuff, and yes it goes back to beginning of 90's.

`dark funeral are fake, toss em in the trash! mighty impiety are much better for fast blazing bm. ---- all trends, and all those who are "in it" just to make money to satisfy their petty drug addictions. hence*** dimmu borgir??? no...... they never sold themselves....................

are you f**king kidding me? Dark Funeral is fake? how so? They are one of my fav black metal bands.
And Dimmu Borgir totally sold out what are you talking about? Cradle of filth is not as lame as Dimmu Borgir, at least some originality.
And just came upon some Burzum totally forgot about him, Burzum is intense. Got their shirt with the burnt church on it lol of the aske album.

`achtung, achtung, wal-mart announces it will be carrying a full line of t-shirts, hats, hoodies, cds and lps and yes of course, internet downloads of all the black metal "joke bands" that "made it" by selling the very essense of darkness and despair, war intolerance and HATE and going down on their race-traitorous knees and surrendering to the numorous trendy, straight-thinking jewish money making labels, owned by ZOG, constantly on the prowl to make white man's heavy metal a mockery and a big circus act!!! support vikernes' fund, for he has many $$$ debts to pay by buying his re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re - released albums on cd, lp and yes on mp3 so you can download it to your 21st-----ing century gizmo's... !!!
