TO be fairly honest i associate gothic with something more emotional and within than an outward appearance although i call it a "phase" i went through for 10 years, with all the leathers & black hair etc, Now i don't dress the same as i used to however that pattern of thought is still the same, thoughts?

Well, I used to be more "goth" (I use the term loosely here) when I was a teen. It started ogut as an affinity for the music that was introduced to me when I was 13 thengrew out of angst and a way to protect myself from a er that lived in my home and had a thing for teeny bopper girls which had begun to disgust me as I matured and my eyes opened up. I was amazed by such artists as Dead Can Dance, Siouxsie and the Banshees, The Cure, Depeche Mode and so on. And when I moved to a town where I knew no one it was kind of like I caved in on myself emotionally and what I found was darkness within. *shrug*
Plus I always had a thing for "goth" guys. They are intellectual and deep not to mention stylish. (And the best in bed! I need a shirt that says "Goths do it best") It stuck til around sophomore year of college when I went more cyber. *shrug* The light!

`I'm not incredibly goth, but I am defiantly influenced by the culture. I've always kind of had a dual nature, I can remember at a very young age, (4/5?) drawing stitches on my skin with a black jell pen, and not really being able to relate it to any person or style it's just what I did, as well as playing with bugs and doing everything un-girly, on the other hand I used to frolic around and catch butterflies Razz my romance with the goth culture has blossomed over the 20 years of my life, and I went through a phase where it defined me, but these days I have integrated it as one of the many parts of me, it's not always obvious though..
