Ok this might be an older topic but I'm new and I found it interesting, so here I am replying to it.

For me, vampires or vampyres - how ever you wish to spell it, could be real to an extent. I've done a lot of research and reading up on the myths and history myself. I've done the blood play but think that is more a s----l thing than a purely vampiric thing. It just depends on what you want to believe in...

I believe Vampires exist. Though I am unsure if they are still around to say so. I believe Vampirism started with a medical illnes not hell. But that is my opinion.

Don't get me wrong, I love the vampire myth. I think it's an important social legend in most cultures. I have a lot of respect for people who feel the need to live a vampire-esque lifestyle. If bloodplay makes you happy and complete, go for it. If you consider yourself to have some kind of psychic powers and that gets your motor going, awesome. But I think anyone who considers themselves a real-true blue vampire has serious fantasizing issues. I always feel kind of bad for people like that because it makes me think they are vastly unhappy on being themselves and feel the need to be something more glamourous, or darker, or whatever.

A great book about people living a vampirey lifestyle is Piercing the Darkness: Undercover with Vampires in America by Katherine Ramsland. One of my favorites.

Like mentalvampyre says...it just depends on what you want to believe in.

But my opinion, which I'm entitled to, is that no, although vampires are way cool and a great legend, they aren't real.

I'd like to say that I believe in vampires, just not the way the media portrays them to be. I mean, look what they've done to witches?

Also, I'd like to be pointed out that being goth doesn't make you a vampire, nor does a vampire have to be goth and dress in all black. One does not make the other. I'd had many people call me a stereotypical goth because I'm Pagan, dress in black, and have a need to drink blood. While that may be seen as 'stereotypical' I've been drinking blood all my life, found paganism roughly 8 years ago and it stuck, and dress in black because it looks good on me and I like the color. None of them really have anything to do with the other... Hopefully that wasn't too off topic, lol.

Well i think I am more like a hybrid..half human half vampire in that case...
I actually prefear to eat my rostbeef almos completely raw so I can feal the taist of blood. I actually eat raw cow meat sometimes,just so I can taist the blood..... Have been as long as I can remember! The thing that turns me on is actually fangs. I am more awake in the night than in the morning! So now you know folks my dark secret! Just because I love raw meat and fangs I am no satanist I totaly with my heart and soul bealive in god and Jesus! But I do it my way and no one can chage that! :lol:

there are psy vamps and sanguins, psy's get energy from the aura, sanguins get it from human or animal blood, neither have fangs, sanguins can be stronger because when drinking blood they can also get some of their victim (willing or not)'s adrenalin.

We are real but we are not undead, unless humans trying to unalive you and failing while you walk away from something you shouldn't have. Counts as undead? But yes blood is what keeps us healthy and feeling alive, go to long without and you get very sick, and human foods can be eaten. But most of the time it makes us feel sick. As far as special gifts, I would say that is limited.
