UK Goths - Whitby Gothic Weekend April 2006....

I'm just curious how many of the UK goths listed here on the site are going - and if you're not going, why not? Have any of you been before and are gutted about not being able to make it this time? Or have some of you not ever heard about it? O_o _

Anyway, I'm currently preparing for the trip and am feeling quite optimistic about it all - should be a good one this time round...not that I'll be sober for all of it, lol.

In the off chance of anyone going, I'll most probably be in the Buck on the Thursday and drinking in the Elsi during the Saturday daytime...haven't planned further than that - so if you see me there you're all more than welcome to buy me a drink ;o)

From stories I've read the UK is a dying place for Goths these days and same thing goes for Punks too. Then again I hate punk rockers, they'er all fake and rude on purpose whats so great about living like everyone else ?

Unfornatly I have plans to hit the city Hong Kong to start on a short 2 hour film about a Punk Rock Street Gang. Similar to that 1977 movie called " the Warriors"

Now if you were only coming to California, I'd hit on you lol. Buying you a drink ? No lol. Was that amusing or not ?

In my experiance the goth scence in the uk is still here is just not getting nights out that people are willing to support both when i lived in plymouth and now in bristol people attended the first night then after that less and less people turn up untill the night dissapears and in bristol now the council are trying to install the great british rich man feel across the city taking away alterative venues one by one.

`i nearly went a few years back as had holiday in st robin hoods bay. just couldnt get there .. that would of made my day going to the gothic ball. i would still love to attend if it was possible lol
