The "more than three months" syndrome

I'm sure lots of people have this problem, but it seems most people whose profiles I've seen have not been on in months. Any advice for finding people who have been on recently, or anything like that?

Thanks in advance. (I'm in LA by the way.) Anyway I will do my part to keep the site active.
